Synopsis

Remember when you were in 6th grade and needed new soccer uniforms, so a parent suggested that everyone provide a recipe and you sell the compiled cookbooks to raise money? Yeah. Those recipes are awful. Verona Blue makes 'em. So you don't have to.

Tasting by JosefE11Jack O Lantern Salad2 cups hot water 1 pkg (6oz.) orange gelatin mix 2 cups cold water 1lbs. carrots, shredded Curly endive Pitted dates CeleryE12Chop Suey1 lb. minced steak 2 onions finely chopped 1/4 cup rice 1/2 cup broken spaghetti 1/2 tsp. celery salt 1/2 tsp. curry powder 1 pt. tomato juice Salt, pepper Tasting by Anne WoodsE13Joanna's Chocolate Chip Cookies (Bonus Episode)1/2 cup butter (slightly warmed or room temp) 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 cup white (granulated) sugar 2 large eggs 2 tsp vanilla 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 1 cup + semi sweet chocolate chips/chunks Cream the butter and brown sugar until well mixed and slightly lightened in colour. Cream in the white sugar until well blended. You want to feel the sugar crystals but not necessarily see all the grains. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Wait until the mixture lightens a bit. Mix the flour and baking soda separately to make sure the soda is incorporated. Chunks of it will give tinny tasting spots in the cookies. Once you add the flour only mix it to combine everything or it will get too tough. Add any chips or other morsels. I've been added candied ginger pieces lately at request from the boys. Drop small spoonfulls onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for approx 10 min. Depending on the oven they can be done as early as 8 or need as much as 12. Play it by looks/smell/patience. :) No matter how many the recipe says, I always get less. Happy baking! jE14Sour Cream Salad1 cup sour cream 1 cup mandarin oranges 1 cup miniature marshmallows 1 cup pineapple tid bits 1 cup coconutE15Cranberry Candles1 can Ocean Spray Whole Cranberry sauce 1 3oz package red, yellow or orange fruit flavored gelatin 1 cup boiling water 1/4 tsp salt 1 tbsp lemon juice 1/2 cup Hellmans real mayonnaise 1 apple or orange peeled and diced 1/4 cup chopped walnutsE16Fruit Salad Dressing2 tbsp undiluted frozen limeade concentrate 1 cup sour creamE17Sweet Potato Balls3 sweet potatoes 1 small can pineapple, drained 3 Tbsp. butter 1/2 package marshmallows Rice crispies Nuts Tasting By Ginny The Survivor and Tera The PhD, E18Carribean Avocado Soup1 large, peeled, seeded, diced avocado 1/2 cup coarsely chopped green pepper 2 green onions, with part of green, sliced 1 1/2 tsp lime juice 1 1/2 tsp light rum dash of tabasco 1 tsp salt 1 1/2 cups milkE19Breakfast Egg CasserolePotato chips (crushed) 12 eggs (hard boiled) 1 c. cubed ham(Carl Buddig thin ham works real well) 4 T. oleo 4 T. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. milk 1 - 1 1/2 c.
