SAM, YUEN's son, a young solicitor, is going home to celebrate his father's birthday. While DIP, CHONG's daughter, an open-minded student, is also going home for holidays. An amusing chao draws them together on the same home-bound train.
CHONG is invited to YUEN's banquet, but he only asks his adopted son NGAI to send him a birthday present. DIP secretly follows NGAI to YUEN's house for fun. Without knowing SAM's identity, DIP is astonished to meet with him there.42m2E2Episode 2The Japanese tries to make use of CHAI, a comprador, to curry favour with YUEN for his wealth and power. But YUEN only shows his scorn for CHAI.
SAM refuses to carry on the business for his father, YUEN. He insists on going back to Shanghai to be a solicitor.
While SAM and KIN are being attacked by some scandals in the street, NGAI by chance passes by. He helps to fight them off, and gets to know SAM.
DIP gets ready for Shanghai after holidaying at home. However, shortly before she leaves, she finds that she has left out something unpacked. So she asked NGAI to bring them back to Shanghai for her. Incidentally, NGAI is on the same Shanghai-bound train with SAM.
